Zen living through sport and yoga

After successfully completing the stress management workshops, one of the solutions proposed was daily sports practice. However, it appears that our students have predominantly chosen to prioritize study and revision over exercise.

For many, time is not sufficient to engage in activities, as the day is already filled with university commitments and revision. Believing that staying home to revise would be a more productive use of their time, some students were not very familiar with physical activity and even less so with its importance for mental health and psychological balance.

This is why our counseling and psychological support unit decided to organize a relaxation afternoon just before the exam week, to help our students understand that a few minutes of exercise are enough to alleviate stress. These moments are not a waste of time, but rather a valuable asset for both body and mind, offering renewal through these breaths of fresh air on a yoga mat.

All participants thoroughly enjoyed this sports event, as they could see that a few exercises were enough to rejuvenate their revision efforts. This new experience at Horizon was applauded by our young students who want to continue engaging in such activities to destress and maintain their physical and mental balance. Thus, we can say that our endeavor has truly succeeded, and that the best habits can be learned at any age.
